8th, Nov: Saturday afternoon became resplendent with colour, music and rhythm as the students of St. Patrick’s Junior College celebrated their 169th Sports Day with vigour and enthusiasm. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Mrs. Laxmi Singh DIG, The Guests of Honour Mr. Rajesh Srivastava ADM City, Agra and Mr. Samir Saurabh SP City Agra, The Principal Sr. Gracy Paul, Sr. Claudine the manager and superior, the senior PTI Mr. D.K. Gunwant and the Sports Captain Malvika Chandel. The Opening ceremony was a perfect prelude to the event, emphasizing on games and sports as the fundamental right of a child. There were several races and relays, followed by a panorama of drills, each conveying the need and the importance of physical exercises especially in today’s sedentary life style. The traffic drill urged the audience to cooperate in following the traffic rules and making Agra a safe destination. Mrs. Laxmi Singh DIG appreciated the efforts and the dynamic drills. She spoke about physical fitness which is the need of the hour. The audience was enthralled and entertained for more than two hours. There was perfect discipline and order throughout the programme, which was commendable. The Principal Sr. Gracy thanked the staff and the students for their diligence and hard work. The Programme ended with the Prize distribution and National Anthem.
