The resplendent afternoon of 3rd November, 2018, witnessed the exuberant display of sportsmanship spirit as St. Patrick’s Junior College, Agra unraveled its 176th Annual Sports and P.T. Display. The programme was filled with a variety of races, drills and other sports activities. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Kishore Kumar Sharma, a B.C.C.I match referee and a former Indian Ranji Trophy cricketer. Capt. (Rtd.) Ratan Singh Bhadauria, a renowned athlete and Gold medalist of Asian Games, was invited as the Guest of Honour. The programme began with a vivid display of March Past by the four houses of the school led by the student council. Then came in the students of classes V and VI with the Opening Ceremony that showcased the St. Patrick’s Day Parade of Ireland with great pomp and show. Students of various classes won the hearts of the guests and their parents with their energetic and charming performances in their respective drills. The zeal and stamina of the budding athletes were put to test as they ran to secure the top position for their respective houses in the 100 mts., 200mts., 400mts. races, relays and hurdles. The students also performed Taekwondo stunts and gave a strong message of woman empowerment to the audience. The stamina of the students was tested to the maximum in Tug of War as they pulled at the rope to secure the first position. Finally, all the students of classes VI-XII displayed their skill in aerobics. The Principal of the school Rev. Sr. Leena D. Matera along with the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour gave away the prizes to the winners and the championship trophy to the Best House of the year. The Chief Guest, through his speech, motivated the budding sports stars of the school to touch the sky with their achievements. The programme came to a vibrant end with the strong message of love, peace, harmony and a great display of sportsmanship spirit and team spirit in the pupils.
