The 71st Republic Day 2020 was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety in the premises of church of Immaculate Conception, Archdiocese of Agra. The flag hoisting ceremony was held in the morning at 8:30 AM. It was followed by singing of national anthem and march past. The march past contingent of each school was led by their captains and vice captains. The participating school are St. Felix Nursery School, St. Alphonso’s School, St. Joseph’s Girls Inter College, St. Francis’ Convent School, St. Vincent Girls High School, St. Peter's College, St. Pauls Inter College and St. Patrick's Junior. College. The salient features of the constitution of India like, Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic were reiterated. Their relevance in current scenario was explained. The Students showcased a colourful cultural programme in front of the chief guest, Archbishop of Agra, Most Reverend Dr. Albert D’ Souza. The Children drew the attention of the audience by staging a thought provoking performance on the sacrifice made by our soldiers to uphold the dignity of our nation. Through dance drama and songs they emphasised on the agouties faced by Indian soldiers in Pulwama attack and other military operation. The cultural programme was concluded at a triumphant note. The Show featuring surgical strike at Balakot by brave Indian soldiers and our victory over terror camps in Pakistan were major highlights of the day. The programme come to an end after the Chief Guest’s address. In the address our chief guest Archbishop of Agra Most reverend Dr Albert D’ Souza inspired the children to lead a life filled with patriotic zeal, he urged the children to be proud of their heritage and culture.
