What Census Data Tell Us.
The students of class VI-A of St. Patrick’s Junior College, Agra presented a very informative assembly on 11th August, 2014 on the topic What Census Data Tell Us. The participants after having explained the meaning of the term ‘Census’, revealed some interesting facts and figures about the population of our country. The Display Board so prepared for the Assembly, depicted different facts and figures of the population of our country.
On 12th of August std. VI-B conducted the assembly on the significance of census in the past as well as the present. The instances were quoted from Rig Veda, Chanakya’s Arthashastra to signify the importance of Census in the ancient age.
Topic of assembly conducted by class VII-A on 13th August for census of India. A population census is the process of collecting, compiling, evaluating, analysing and disseminating demographic, economic and socio cultural data at a specified time for all persons of a country. The Census of India is conducted every decade since 1872 without any break.
